BNP should be ashamed of the Pakistani PM's remarks: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that BNP leaders, wearing dark glasses, cannot see the development of the country. They should be ashamed of the remarks made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan about Bangladesh. He made these comments after paying tribute at the tomb of Shaheed Sheikh Jamal on the occasion of his 71st birthday this Sunday morning in Banani Cemetery.

Initially, Obaidul Quader paid his respects at the tomb on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, followed by a tribute with the party's central leaders.

Obaidul Quader said, 'I think the BNP does not study. Quoting Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's comment, 'Now I am ashamed to see the progress of Bangladesh,' he mentioned that Pakistan can see Bangladesh’s development, but BNP leaders cannot see the development of their own country.

In response to Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman and Leader of the Opposition GM Quader’s statement that three foreign powers worked to keep the Awami League in power, Obaidul Quader said, 'There was no foreign influence in the twelfth national election. The Jatiya Party needs to clarify if they came to the elections under any pressure.'

At the time, members of the Awami League presidium including Dr. Mostofa Jalal Mohiuddin, Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Dr. Dipu Moni, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizational Secretary Ahmed Hossain, BM Mozammel Haq, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon, Afzal Hossain, Sujit Roy Nandi, Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap, and Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan were present.
