Movement will not stop until downfall of the Awami ruling clique: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has declared that the entire country has turned into a city of oppression under the Awami League's horrific misrule, and that the public's anger is rising against the "occupant Awami fascist government." He asserted that the movement of the people will not cease until the downfall of this illegitimate ruling group.

Mirza Fakhrul made these statements in a press release on Sunday, condemning the arrest of 14 leaders including Moulvibazar district BNP's general secretary Mizanur Rahman.

In the statement, Fakhrul accused the government of using repression as a tool to perpetually cling to state power, noting that the former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, remains imprisoned under false charges, while the government continues to intimidate and terrorize the populace, along with inflicting various forms of oppression on BNP and its affiliate organization members. This crackdown has included the arrests of the mentioned leaders from Moulvibazar.

He criticized the government's ongoing strategy of arresting opposition members relentlessly and fabricating charges against them, describing it as a routine activity for the "occupant Awami government." He remarked that the government's hunger for power and its brutal tactics have intensified following the "dummy and unilateral elections" on January 7.
